Day 01: Arrival at Paro

Welcome to Bhutan. After arrival at Paro, spend your time going around Paro valley and mentally preparing for the trek which begins tomorrow.

Day 02: Paro – Olathang – Chonana (trekking)

Trekking distance       : 14 km

Trekking time             : 4 -5 hours

Campsite location       : Chonana

Campsite altitude        : 3500 m

From your hotel drive for a short duration till Olathang from where the trek begins.

Day 03: Chonana – Jebkarpo (trekking)

Trekking distance       : 16 km

Trekking time             : 5-6 hours

Campsite location       : Jebkarpo

Campsite altitude        : 3500 m

Today we will be climbing Chelela Pass, which at 3,900 meters is the highest road point in Bhutan. During the flowering season, you can feast on a variety of flowers, such as Primula, Blue Poppy and Rhododendrons and also the stunning view of the Himalayan mountain ranges on a clear day.

Day 04: Jebkarpo – Mingula (trekking)

Trekking distance       : 15 km

Trekking time             : 5-6 hours

Campsite location       : Mingula

Campsite altitude        : 3850 m

The day will be memorable for its visual treat with the highlight being a spectacular view of Mt Jomolhari, which is revered as the abode of Bhutan’s mountain Goddess, Aum Jomo. There are also other spectacular peaks that can be seen on a clear day, such as Tsering Gang (The Glacier of Long Life) and Jichu Drakey.

Day 05: Mingula – Tong (trekking)

Trekking distance       : 16 km

Trekking time             : 5-6 hours

Campsite location       : Tong

Campsite altitude        : 3950 m

This is yet another day offering excellent views of mountains and valley. The trail will take you along landscapes with herds of yaks, an animal that is exclusive to the Himalyan communities. Night halt today will be at camp in Tong.

Day 06: Tong – Drugyal – Paro (trekking)

After a short descent to Paro valley, the trek will end at Drukgyel. From here drive towards Paro.

Day 07: Departure

Your wonderful trekking tour of Bhutan comes to an end today. After breakfast, your guide and driver will see you off at Paro international airport for you onward destination.

Fly out either to Bangkok, Singapore, Katmandu, Dhaka, Delhi or Kolkata

The total tour cost, minimum daily tariff, surcharges and Bhutan visa fees for booking “Chelela Trek” are as follows:

The above mentioned price covers the following:
  • Tour vehicles with experienced driver – (SUV cars for single and dual travelers, Toyota Mini buses for group of 3 – 9 travelers and Toyota coaster buses for group consisting 10 or more travelers).
  • All meals – (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).
  • All accommodations in 3 star hotels/ guest houses in twin sharing basis – (Up gradation to 4 stars and 5 stars available on paying the extra premium).
  • Licensed English speaking tour guide – (Language speaking guides for French, German, Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Thai are available on paying extra premium of $60 - $100).
  • Sustainable Development fee of US $65 per person per night spent in Bhutan – (This money goes for a very good cause of reducing poverty, rural development, free medical services and free education for Bhutanese people).
